Insurance examinations

A medical examination is required for some insurance plans such as occupational disability insurance and life insurance. The insurer calls on medical examiners for independent advice. The object of the examination is to enable the insurance company to determine whether the requested insurance plan should be accepted, and if so, which conditions apply.

The medical examination
Exactly what falls under the examination, depends upon the insurance request. The doctor discusses the results and advises the client. The insurer uses the information gathered in making its decision, but is the one that ultimately determines whether the insurance request is granted or not.
